Erythrophobia - the Fear of Red Oil on canvas 36 x 48 inches, signed l.r., LEITZ '06, Exhibited: LaPerla, West Hartford Center, CT $Price on request
Inspired by his travels to to build his series of phobia paintings. This work bridges the artistic with the mathematical in a complex balance of form and color, graffiti and equations. Erythrophobia, the fear of Red has dual meaning in this painting beyond the literal definition. As a metaphor for avoiding financial loss, Leitz inscribed Erythrophobia with the conceptual ideas which form the basis for an innovative statistical arbitrage trading strategy. His reference to C3PII in 2005 commemorates the annuity equity guarantees in the hope of keeping the insurance
industry out of the red.

Oil on canvas, 20 x 28 in. Exhibited: LaPerla Fine Art, West Hartford Center, CT Exhibited: Essex Art Association, Best in Show Artist's Collection, Elm Art Gallery $18,200 Leitz impressionist style and admiration for traditional cityscapes combine dramatically in this depiction of a late afternoon view of an 11th century abbey, a view from where Leitz was painting in the summer of 1999. This subject is a personal and intimate scene of uncertainty in an otherwise picturesque setting. At this moment in time, Leitz captured elements of light, color, form and shadow combined with the search to find a safe haven.

Within this cityscapeof Paris, the early evening sunset reflects on the rain water fromthe showers of March near the fountain of Saint-Michel, beside theSeine,

Paris in the spring of 2000. With a view from Quai de Montebello,Leitz observed the elements of light and color, and interpreted thoseelements in the spirit of
Impressionism.
